You'll also need
- Fabric with a distinct design - fabrics react differently in resin, watch the tutorial to help you choose which will work best
- White cardstock, if you decide to back your fabrics as shown in the video
- Waxed paper or another non-stick surface (back of your doming tray works, if you're not using it for other projects).

I'm loving this technique for turning bits and pieces of fabric into jewelry, buttons, pins, magnets, all sorts of shiny treasures! It's easy to do and super-versatile. If you're looking for the best resin supplies for beginners, or if you've already got skills, you'll find everything you need here at little-windows.com. The video above shows how to select the best fabrics for this technique, and how to treat them before applying resin so you get the best looking results. Some fabrics will need a white backing to help the design pop.
The projects you make with this concept can be simple, or lead into a layered fiber wonderland. We have the best resin jewelry starter kit, and unique resin jewelry supplies to make your ideas come to life. In the video I focus on the Resin Doming Technique that Brilliant Resin does so well, but there are lots of ways to use fabrics in your castings too. This is also a great project for mixed media, so throw in an image, a charm, some pigments, or some beads for extra dimension. In addition to the best resin jewelry supplies, this how-to video will walk you step-by-step through how to turn your fabric scraps into awesome pieces!
Here are some examples of some different fabrics in resin, you'll notice the printed cottons on the left and right hold up well and still show some texture in resin, but the green felt looks flat and the fluffy blue stuff looks blobby - could be a cool effect, but it doesn't keep its soft appearance once you submerge it in resin.

You can also use a photo of fabric, which allows you to duplicate, resize, or manipulate if needed to coordinate with your pieces:
