These signs are lightweight, waterproof, and lots of fun!
We got some new planty pet friends this year, and I thought making nametags for our favorites would be fun, and helpful too.
You can create your own little signs using Photoshop or another editing program, or find graphics online (like the succulents and name tag graphics I got from Etsy), then resize them and add a name or other info. If you aren't familiar with Photoshop, follow this link to a quick tutorial. The project is smaller but you'll get the idea. :)
STEP 1: Print signs on Special Photo Paper for Resin, and trim them out any shape you want.
STEP 2: Arrange your cut-out pieces on a Silicone Doming Tray, mix resin following package directions, and pour to dome. Start in the center of your piece and pour until it's covered except around the edges. This takes a little time to master, so just be conservative to start and then add a bit more if your resin isn't flowing to the edges. You can also pull it to the edges using your Mixing Wand. You want full coverage and a nice dome without overflowing.
STEP 3: Allow Brilliant Resin to set up. If you want your signs to be flat, you can handle them any time after 12 hours. If you want curved signs, at about 12 hours you'll be able to handle your signs without fingerprinting, but it should still be bendable so you can shape it around the pot you'll be using and tape it in place. Allow it to harden for another day so it holds that shape, then remove.
STEP 4: Drill if needed and attach chain or wire to hold your shapes to their pots, or plastic stakes if you'd like to put your signs inside the pots. For this first one I used an old necklace, then used wire at the ends stuck down in the dirt to hold the sign in place.
Curly's sign is held onto the pot with a small piece of velcro. Stan's sign has a plastic plant stake glued on the back.
This one shows a blank sign coated with Brilliant Resin. This means I can write on it with dry erase marker, or Sharpie, and they make great gifts for the green thumbs you know.
