How-To:

If you haven't seen the movie Kubo and the Two Strings,

you should watch it as soon as you can.

It's beautiful and inspiring and made me want to create!!

Here are some jewelry pieces I made using imagery from this movie as an example.  You can use pictures from any movie, TV Show, book, comic book, favorite band, or whatever you love.
These should only be for your personal use or gifts, not to sell as these images are copyright protected.
These first ones were made by casting in molds:

All of the following pieces were made with the Doming Technique on our Silicone Doming Trays:

Our Special Photo Paper for Resin is not only waterproof, it's double-sided.  Above you can see me doming the front side of these round photo charms.  I let that set up, flipped them over and domed the backside, which was printed with a leaf pattern from the movie.  Once the resin had thickened up for 1-1/2 - 2 hours I inserted simple red wire loops on the back sides.

This necklace and earrings set was also domed on both sides (DoubleDoming):

Same with these pieces, but I also inserted the magnets into the thickening resin on the backs.

This next one is the trickiest project, and I love it!

Step 1: Select, cut, and arrange your photos.

Step 2: Dome all the fronts and allow to harden.

Step 3: Flip in the same position, shape wires as you like and set the wires aside.

Step 4: Dome back side, wait 1-1/2 - 2 hours, then press wire into thickening resin.  Allow to set up at least 12 hours.

Step 5: Add cord (I used several colors of Wire Lace), charms, whatever other elements you'd like to finish your creation.

And here's the layered one I made in one of our Sterling Plated Bezels:

These projects made by Sheila Willert follow the same technique using washi tape mounted on white paper.  She punched out shapes and cast them in resin:
